New Britain Youth Theater brings its popular homeschool enrichment program to Meriden this spring with a six-week pilot program offered in connection with Meriden YMCA Youth Theater.

NBYT’s homeschool performance and production class, offered for children ages 8 through 14, focuses on a different theme or style of theater each session. Discussions about theater history, cultural and social connections, costumes, and props will also include making some items for their own final performances. A Share Day performance, with simple costumes and props, is held during the fi nal class. This pilot
class will focus on 1930s and 40s radio with dramas, comedies, sci-fi , and mysteries, with an emphasis on vocal exercises and making our own sound effects for a final production!
Musical Theater Camp July 10-14 (Grades 5 – 8)
Have a camper that loves to act, dance, and sing? Come join our first ever Musical Theater Camp this summer! No experience required.
Join the ensemble for the performance of Bugsy Malone Jr. in collaboration with our friends at the Meriden YMCA’s Mountain Mist Day Camp.
Campers will receive two hours of specialized instruction/rehearsal each day, along with enjoying the rest of the normal camp day activities. Participants in this specialty camp do not go swimming.
At the end of the session, campers will travel by bus to Mountain Mist Day Camp in Meriden for dress rehearsal. Show performances will be held the evenings of July 13th and July 14th at Mountain Mist Day Camp. (transportation will not be provided for shows). Performing in both shows is strongly encouraged, but not mandatory.
