For families that can’t afford to send their kids to summer camp and swim lessons, the Y is there.
The New Britain-Berlin-Meriden YMCA provides these programs free-of-charge to those in need, a feat that would be impossible if not for some serious fundraising.
That’s where the Y’s annual golf tournament comes in.
Kids in the North-Oak Street neighborhood are enjoying a summer filled with snow cones, water blasters, sports and games.
At least those who take advantage of the New Britain YMCA’s Camp Rec Express, a free, drop-in summer camp at Willow Street Park Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, except when it rains.

The New Britain-Berlin YMCA is slated to receive more than a million dollars in funding for improvements to its facility on High Street.
The facility renovations include air conditioning upgrades and energy efficient window replacement in an attempt to support health safety and implement cost-savings on gas and electricity for the YMCA.

Congratulations to the Seals Swimmers for qualifying to attend the ISCA Showcase this summer. This was our first time attending the long course meet in St. Petersburg, Florida. It was a great experience for all. Here’s a summary: 12 swimmers, 70 events, 55 best times, 4 top ten finishers, 13 medals, 12 exhausted swimmers and families, met one new Olympic swimmer and walked away with 3 extremely proud coaches!
The Connecticut Lions Club is partnering with the Meriden-New Britain-Berlin YMCA to offer a special summer camp at Mountain Mist. This one week camp gives children with Type 1 diabetes the opportunity to have a fun outdoor experience while under the care of registered nurses who specialize in the care of pediatric diabetes.

The New Britain School district has decided to call full remote days for Tuesday June 8th and Wednesday June 9th due to the extreme heat. As a result we are offering anyone currently registered for our AM, PM, or Combo Care programs to attend one of the following locations (see below) in order for their child to be able to do their remote learning.
